About Hali’i Kai
The 1500AD lava flow from Muana Loa volcano, named Kaniku, covered 31 miles of land right up to the ocean. Hawaiian tradition states Kaniku was a guardian spirit of a fish pond that once existed here. The Big Island spirit is very much alive and can be felt when you are here. Hali’i Kai means “spreading out to the sea” and when you see this beautiful community, you’ll know why…
Located on the sunny Kohala coastline of Hawaii, and only 16 miles from Kona International Airport, lies the world renowned WAIKOLOA Beach Resort. This immaculately landscaped resort offers guests an abundance of amenities including luxury golf courses, two world class resort/spas – Hilton & Marriott, fine dining, shopping, speciality boutiques, grocery stores and a host of water recreation.
The gated community of Hali’i Kai, “the jewel” of the Big Island real estate some would say, is where we call home and lies within the heart of Waikoloa Beach Resort, right on the ocean. On this sun drenched part of the Kohola Coast (6 inches of rainfall annually), the elements have come together naturally to create a place like no other.
This luxury development is perched on a bed of lava rock overlooking the coast. It is a beautifully stunning complex boasting many amenities such as tennis court, basketball court, BBQ area and it’s pride and joy being the licensed private Hali’i Kai Ocean Club for the exclusive use of owners and guests. Here you will find both your sanctuary and playground surrounded by fragrant blossoms and ocean breezes. It features a superb multiple-level lagoon style swimming pool with waterfalls and partially submerged aqua lounger chairs and a children’s wadding area. It has the most spectacular exercise room overlooking whale migration, the waves hitting the rocks and 180 degree ocean views. Included also is an in ground hot tub for sore, aching muscles after your work out. The Crème de la Crème is the poolside Bar and Grill, serving some of the best food you will find on the island.
Hali’i Kai has received rave reviews and is rated by TripAdvisor as the number one community on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is a 5 minute walk to the Hilton Waikoloa Hotel and its many amenities. It also offers easy access to a variety of island adventures such as Whale Watching ( in season) helicopter tours to the active volcano, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, boat tours, golf and a special chance to swim with the Dolphins. You can also visit coffee plantations, Hilo rain forests and the world’s largest observatory. These are just a few of the many activities you can explore when you enjoy an unforgettable luxury vacation experience.
